Regency Pain is a multi-disciplinary practice which means we offer patients many different treatment options to help manage pain. Our doctors come from varied backgrounds and training, so each brings their own unique experiences together for a common purpose, to improve the quality of life for patients we treat.

Aimee Whitfield, PT

Director, Regency Physical Therapy and Cardiac Rehab

Aimee Whitfield is a licensed physical therapist for Regency Pain & Therapy Institute in Mansfield. She performs patient evaluations to assess pain, mobility/strength limitations, gait/balance deficits, and functional limitations, and creates an individualized plan of care based on the needs of each patient; which is then implemented with the help of her team of physical therapist assistants.

She currently provides direction for clinical operations to her physical therapy team of physical therapist assistants and physician therapy technicians as well as the team of nurses, registered dietitian, counselor, and exercise physiologists associated with the intensive cardiac rehab program at Regency.

Training

Aimee earned her Bachelor of Science in Human Biology in 1991 from Texas Woman’s University in Denton, Texas where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. Two years later, she earned her Master of Science in Physical Therapy from Texas Woman’s University in Dallas, Texas.

Experience

Aimee practiced outpatient orthopedic physical therapy in Irving, Texas, before she branched out and moved on to other physical therapy practices in the Arlington/Mansfield area.  Aimee created and implemented work hardening and conditioning programs in multiple facilities throughout Texas, working with them to achieve the maximum 3 year CARF accreditation. In 2003, she joined MedSport/Arlington Pain & Therapy as Director of Physical Therapy.  As Arlington Pain & Therapy began to make plans for opening their Mansfield location, Aimee was asked to develop an intensive cardiac rehab program for the new Regency Pain and Therapy Institute.  After completing her research, Aimee developed the current program by following the guidelines established by AACVPR and working with the nationally based Pritikin program to prepare the staff for the education component of the new program.

Xenia Carithers grew up in Keene, Texas. She received her Bachelor’s in Kinesiology/Exercise Science from Southwestern Adventist University in 2015. Following her undergraduate degree, she was accepted into the Physical Therapy Assistant program at Tarrant County College where she received her Associates of Applied Science in Physical Therapy Assistant in 2017. Xenia has six years of experience working with several age groups in the orthopedic and skilled nursing setting. She has a passion for exercise and enjoys working to improve patient’s functional mobility and quality of life. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Zach Carithers, a Physical Therapist, their fur baby, working out, and spending time with family.

Brittani Smith was born and raised in Texas. She graduated from The University of Texas at Arlington earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise Science; then went on to pursue her Physical Therapy Assistant License through Tarrant County College in 2020. She has been working in an outpatient orthopedic setting since graduating. She is passionate about helping her patients overcome their pain limitations physically, mentally, and emotionally. She finds great reward in seeing her patients gain confidence and skills to return to a functional and active lifestyle. In her free time, Brittani enjoys raising her two young kids, Sawyer & Sutton, with her husband Tyler, who works for Mansfield ISD. Some of their favorite activities include outdoor adventures, family karaoke, and spending time with family and friends. 

Amanda Palacio, PTA

Amanda grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico. She received her Associate of Occupational Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Pima Medical Institute in 2018. While working at a level one trauma outpatient orthopedic clinic she went on to receive her Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapist Assistant from Pima Medical Institute in 2020. After working in an orthopedic clinic for two years, she split her work week between a movement disorder clinic working with neurological conditions and other rare conditions and at the orthopedic clinic with a focus on sports injury and recovery, chronic pain and joint replacements. She enjoys educating patients on their pain, working one-on-one with individuals to regain mobility, strength, autonomy and an overall better quality of life. In her spare time Amanda enjoys spending time with her fur babies, trains and competes in Olympic weightlifting, going for hikes, snowboarding, plays the piano, and talking weekend adventures with her husband.

Lisa Badolato, RD, LD

Lisa Badolato

RD, LD

Lisa Badolato obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas and is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian.  She has worked in inpatient and outpatient settings providing nutritional education and counseling for over 20 years.  Lisa has a passion for wellness and enjoys motivating others to become healthier by making lifestyle changes that will make a positive impact on their health and well-being.  In her free time Lisa enjoys spending time with her family, and most recently her new grandson. She is also an avid Nebraska volleyball fan – Go Huskers!

Zeinat "Z" Awoniyi, RN

Zeinat “Z” Awoniyi grew up in Los Angeles, California and moved to Texas in 2012. She is one of 6 kids but has never met her eldest siblings. She is close with 3 of her 4 brothers. Zienat went to nursing school at Southern Adventist University where she received her BSN and has been working as a nurse since 2018. She has worked for a children’s hospital and also at a hospital in cardiology. Zeinat has two Dobermans named King and Queen and loves to cook, eat, and travel. She also has a passion for planning parties/get-togethers.

Kyle Lilly, Exercise Physiologist

Kyle graduated from Baylor University with a Master’s Degree in Exercise Physiology in 2018. He interned in Cardiac Rehab at The Mayo Clinic in Rochester MN where he developed a passion and vision for Cardiology. Kyle started his career in Corporate Wellness where he sharpened his knowledge and skills in personal training and Nutrition Consultations. He then transitioned into Cardiology to pursue his vision of societal health. His passion for cardiology lies in changing patient’s lives and giving people the tools to take control of their lives. He believes that knowledge is power and that learning from and listening to his patients is just as important as teaching and educating. At Regency, we discover and take advantage of the whole person, not just the cardiology aspects, so we can deliver life changing knowledge, ideas and community. Kyle is a family man who lives for the people in his life. He never turns away a good book, game, time outside with family or an afternoon in the gym.

Alexis Martin graduated from Midwestern State University in Wichita Falls with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Physiology at the end of 2021. She started her career as an Exercise Physiologist in a physical medicine clinic before moving into the field of cardiology. Along with her love of physiology, Alexis also has a passion for learning about the business side of healthcare. While working here at Regency, Alexis is pursuing a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration from Texas Tech’s Health Science Center. She hopes that one day she will not only be able to help patients individually, but also improve the healthcare system as a whole. In her free time Alexis enjoys trying new coffee shops with her fiancé and spending time outdoors.
